Twin Yamaha F25 FET Outboards Leaking Water And Emulsified Oil

Ross has been working on twin Yamaha F25 FET outboard engines from a much loved Essex foot ferry.
After removing the drain plugs it was clear something was seriously amiss with both gearboxes as the sheer amount of metal filings attracted to the magnetic plugs was a sure sign of things to come.
Further investigations and a pressure test conducted by Ross confirmed several leaking seals and the fact that they continued haemorrhaging water and emulsified oil was also a bit of a giveaway as to the sorry state of the problem. 
Both gearboxes have since been stripped and are now ready for a rebuild with new seals and housing.
Who knows what manor of delights are awaiting Ross as he continues to delve further into the outboard mechanisms.
